DISC Behavioral Analysis & The Leadership Connection
This is the applied DISC service: the assessment, the interpretation, and — the part that actually matters — translating a profile into how you should communicate, delegate, disagree and lead. A DISC report on its own changes nothing. Plenty of people have taken one and can name their letter. What changes behaviour is knowing what to do differently on Monday, with a specific person, in a specific conversation.
What are the four DISC styles?
| Style | What drives them | Under pressure they tend to | How to communicate with them |
|---|---|---|---|
| D — Dominance | Results, speed, control | Get blunt and impatient | Be brief, lead with the outcome, skip the preamble |
| I — Influence | People, recognition, momentum | Talk more and over-commit | Be warm, let them think out loud, confirm the details in writing |
| S — Steadiness | Stability, trust, harmony | Go quiet and absorb rather than object | Slow down, ask directly for their view, give notice ahead of change |
| C — Conscientiousness | Accuracy, standards, evidence | Withdraw into detail and resist deciding | Bring the data, give prep time, do not rush the decision |

What does 'The Leadership Connection' mean?
It is the translation step. The assessment tells you the pattern. The connection is what you do with it: which of your direct reports needs the headline first and which needs the reasoning first, why the person who goes quiet in your meetings is not disengaged, and which two people on your team will predictably grind against each other on timelines.
Does DISC work for a whole team?
That is where most of the value is. An individual profile is useful. A team's profiles side by side explain the friction people have been quietly attributing to attitude for years — which is also why it underpins the Pinnacle Transformation Campaign and conflict resolution work.
DISC questions
- What does DISC measure?
- Observable behaviour — how a person tends to act, decide, communicate and respond under pressure. It does not measure intelligence, competence or character.
- Is there a best DISC style?
- No. Every style has conditions where it is an advantage and conditions where it is a liability.
- Can DISC be used for hiring?
- It is a poor hiring filter on its own and should never be the deciding factor. Its value is in helping people who already work together understand each other.
- How do I get a DISC profile through Pinnacle?
